Jennifer was a proud big sister on Monday night as she celebrated her younger sister, Lynda, turning one year older – and was thrilled when she knocked decades off their real ages
Jennifer Lopez has paid tribute to her younger sister as she passed a landmark year in life – with the duo joking that they are both half their ages.
The 51-year-old chart topping star is big sister to journalist Lynda Lopez who turned 50-years-old on Tuesday.
JLo and a group of friends threw a lavish party for her younger sister at Nobu in Malibu, Los Angeles, on Monday night – with celebrations no doubt helping Lynda ring in her landmark year.
Chatting to her sister on the night, Jenny was thrilled when Lynda joked that she was only turning 26-years-old, thus cutting Jennifer’s age effectively in half also.
In footage shared on Instagram Stories, while posing in front of a giant photo of her sister as a child, JLo asked: “What are we doing here?”
Lynda answered: “We are looking at this crazy baby picture of me!”
JLo asked: “Yeah, but – we’re here for your birthday! How old are you?” and Lynda answered sarcastically: “I am 26.”
“The one who has always celebrated me in the good times and encouraged me in the tough ones. You are a brilliant, shining angel on earth with a pure heart and a genuinely beautiful soul.
“You deserve all the best things in life and on your birthday I wish you peace, health, happiness, success and most importantly…all the love your heart could ever desire. Happy birthday.”
And in other footage shared online, Jennifer was seen becoming emotional and breaking into tears as she praised her sister.
She gushed: “We will always be here for each other, but today… How amazing and talented you are! You gorgeous angel from heaven.
“I am so lucky to have you as my sister and best friend for 50 years.”
